Kirwan, Greenwood & Burns are a transatlantic collaboration who have been working together virtually for close to three years. Blending an eclectic palette of global roots musics with contemporary ideas, KG&B share the goal of presenting old songs in new ways and new songs in old ways.
Our collaborators, and where to find them:
Mark A. Pierce is a Northern English folk musician with a particular interest in old-time, but he likes any good song and loves to collaborate with other musicians.
Jerry Rockwell is a master dulcimer player, teacher and builder based in southeastern Ohio. his latest album The Singing Messenger was released in November 2016 and is available from iTunes, CDBaby, Google Play, and more.
Couch King Presents is an all-around music guy, a tireless and generous creator, promoter, and collaborator currently based in Oregon, and worldwide via the web.
Global citizen and current Australian Chris O is well-versed in all kinds of folk and ethnic music, but is equally at home with the blues. Her newest album, Wailin' and Raggin' The Blues, is available internationally via CDBaby.
Go-to KGB accordion guy Alan Ingall of North Carolina approaches his instrument with a keen ear for anything that sounds like it would be fun to play, as evidenced by the wide-ranging material he brought to this project.
English banjo virtuoso Jon Mills plays styles from throughout the British Isles with his group The Old Lone Gin Band, but Jon is game to tackle anything including standards from the Great American Songbook!
Tim Olisker records as Pianissimo and has amazingly only been making music for about two years, starting on piano and then moving into the world of composition and performance using VSTs. His pan-ethnic classico-medieval sound, with its intriguing combination of Eastern sounds and Western traditions, makes a great counterpoint and companion to KGB's retrofuturistic global old-time.
Frequent KGB collaborator, the amazingly productive Loran Otzer is one of our favorite songwriters to work with. From his perch high in the Alps he writes and plays songs celebrating the myriad things he loves, all in a unique pop-friendly country-folk style.
